Default SOAR 2015 - July 24 - 26 - Great Wind & Good Parties

We are on the countdown to SOAR and the SYC provides the following update/info....

WIND & SAILS. TUNES & ALES.
A festival has blown into Howe Sound that adds colour to one of British Columbia's long-running regattas. SOAR (Squamish Open Annual Regatta) by the Squamish Yacht Club is July 24 to 26 for its 36th year and we welcome you to join us and register now!

To REGISTER NOW FOR SOAR visit:
http://squamishsoar.com/register/

With less than two weeks to the start gun be sure to submit your registration and purchase your race entry, dinners and those fast-flying-off-of-the-shelf famous SOAR T-shirts!!!

Touted for the great time both on and off of the water with big winds and the best party as voted at the VARC awards 2013 and 2014, SOAR is definitely a regatta to fit into your race schedule! The full weekend includes three races starting from the Inflow on Friday afternoon, the Distance race on Saturday and the Outflow “Hangover” race as you head back home on Sunday, along with a weekend-long community celebration that melds wind sports with music and art. This year there will be live music both Friday and Saturday night at the park across from the Squamish Yacht Club. Register Now to SOAR and celebrate!

Be sure to be found on the list! http://squamishsoar.com/registered-boats/

Sorry, I normally start a thread and have been remiss in doing so. Thanks Steve.

Should be a good one this year. The meal is a selection of curries from the local Crabapple Cafe.

Both Friday night and Saturday night will feature concerts in the park.

so what will be different in your rig set-up/safety/crew briefing/crew work for this event?

will you switch to letterbox? will you have jacklines? PFD's at all times? dog down the front hatch? reefing gear on the main teed up? clamp down on rig tension? Enquiring minds want to know!
