My list:
- make sure the BBQ is on board for Friday at the dock
- bring ice, lots of gin and a case of tonic
- cushions onboard
- make sure the #3 is onboard and the older red kite (don't want to blow up the new kite again like we did on Straits), can a kite qualify as new once it's been blown up?
- invite the heavier crew for rail duty
- remind the crew that we're a "PFD always" boat no matter what the conditions

Double check the stripper guy and his leash are still in the drawer, and inflate the palm tree.

A reminder to all crew and skippers, the SOAR is a PFD mandatory race. Every year the SI's specify this. Yachts can be dsq'd for failure to comply. RC need not (and does not) fly the PFD mandatory flag.

This is the SYC's commitment to safe boating (we do the same for the local series). Besides, there seems to be at least one POB every year.

Sorry shawmac......didn't see that. Always appreciate a stronger focus on safety.

As for me, if I can boot the regatta together, I will be doing letterbox and may consider adding guys to make the gybes easier.

Safety briefing will discuss how to extract oneself from worst case scenario(s)

Hey Geoff,

Sorry it wasn't a specific focus on you; I just quoted you for emphasis.

Default ride back from Squamish (Fri or Sat night)

Thinking of joining another J/29 for the Friday delivery race. Does anyone know a ride back to Vancouver on Friday or Sat night? Really can't commit to 3 days, would stretch it with doing 2 days, but must do at least 1!!!

We're trailering the Viper back to WVYC on Sunday morning and can drop you off at the Seabus or somewhere on the North Shore if that works.

Cheers,
John

Thanks John. I think I got a ride for Sat night, but if that fails, I'll look for you. See you at Squamish. M
