Scheduling for Victoria early in 2018 is proving challenging; no decision yet. Two Vancouver classes are being planned.

We are planning to have a schedule update for the first half of 2018 on the website at http://www.bcsailing.bc.ca/safetyatsea.php by November 30.

Registration closes before the class to give time for the organizers to deliver advance material to attendees, prepare final materials, prepare class lists with emergency contacts, etc.

If there is someone local who wants or needs to attend on short notice, they can send an email to sas@bcsailing.bc.ca and we'll do our best to make it work.

Hope this is helpful,

Default First Half 2018 Schedule

First Half 2018 Schedule:

Feb 24-25, Royal Vancouver YC, 2 day Offshore Personal Survival Course
Mar 17, Sidney North Saanich YC, 1 day Safety at Sea course
Mar 24, West Vancouver YC, 1 day Safety at Sea course
Apr 28-29, West Vancouver YC, 2 day Offshore Personal Survival Course

Feb 24-25 OPSC: advance registration is open now for race and delivery crew members of boats entered in the 2018 Vic-Maui (ask your Vic-Maui skipper for the advance registration link). General registration will open on December 16, and there will still be space available at that time.

Saving money: Early bird pricing is in effect for each course - registering early will save you money.

Saving more money on renewals: this training and the certificates are valid for 5 years. Participants who have previously taken this training through BC Sailing are eligible for a 25% reduction in the registration price. Have your expired/expiring certificate number ready when registering, as you will need it to select this option.

Up to date information on the courses, schedules and registration is available at www.bcsailing.bc.ca/safetyatsea.php
