Default Round Bowen race just got longer

Approvals have been given for new private moorages at Cape Roger Curtis. There will be at least four installed similar to this one:

http://www.arfd.gov.bc.ca/Applicatio...16&action=view

The breakwater extends 75m out from the low tide mark.

While I am all for increasing moorage availability in the GVRD, I think this is a little extreme and will have a lasting effect on the environment and visual landscape of such a peaceful place.

When are you moving to the city Geoff? Better do it before the city moves to you...

And might I add, what an awful place for a marina. Swells there during storms... yuck.

This is simply a private dock, like thousands of others in the province. The bed of the water body is provincial crown land and the will get a lease as an upland owner.

You are correct that this is a simple occurrence that happens every day, but the interesting thing with this case, is that when you add the four approvals together, there will be a breakwater 200m long at the cape.
It could be close to rvyc Jericho in size......
