Another J/30 in Vic.

Didn't think there were this many around here.

Default '97 Viper 640 in Tacoma

For anyone looking to get into a sportsboat with a great OD there's a '97 Viper 640 for sale in Tacoma. This boat was built in Rhode Island (Bennett Boats) and is out of epoxy resin so are very solid but it will need a couple of things i.e., the keel bulb upgrade to be class legal.

These boats are as competitive as a new one as evidence by another similar vintage boat finishing 2nd in this past fall's North Americans in Long Beach where it was high teens/low 20's every day.

Converting to a carbon rig is a good idea but not a requirement. Details of what will need/should to be done can be found at http://forum.viper640.org/index.php/topic,1781.0.html

Asking $9,500
Listing is at http://forum.viper640.org/index.php?...0.msg16921#new

S2 7.9 asking $8k seems like a decent price.

More cooler:

This boat only comes up for sale once per decade or so. I think there's only one or two on the west coast. Seriously cool little boats, not as fast as a Melges 24 but way more versatile and lots of strings

This Bull 7000 sounds like a great boat, although the cruising description sounds a bit optimistic....

The cruising interior setup is actually pretty cool. Lots of moving parts of course. It's very unique.

Some pics of one here: http://bluebullitt.blogspot.ca/p/foto.html

You could race it with all the cushions on board!

Companionway drops to lee or weather. Your call...
