Here's a deal maybe:

$950 for a Martin 32 that has been underneath fresh water briefly..

Sadly, the future I see for this boat is an OB strapped on to the transom, then anchored off Kits Point, followed quickly by a grounding during the first big storm.

West Marine Ultimate 30. Rig is off of some other boat. Marty who used to have the Olson 30 GosHawk has been sitting on that for at least 5 years.

Should look like this:

A sistership was used as a parts donor for the original Riptide 35, and then the hull was turned into a powerboat.

Good question. With the racks on, and 8 guys on wires, it's probably fairly quick. But with the big rig and big bowsprit I think it's pushing 50 feet long too. The rig it has is smaller than the class rig, last I heard.

A few people have tried unsuccessfully to convert these into sportboats by adding a bulb keel and small cabintop, but the hull has almost zero rocker and isn't designed to carry around weight like that. I don't know what the heck I would do with it if I had it.

The hull shape the Ultimate 30s used was awfully close to the shape of the Cheetah 30 (see spot run) so I guess in theory you could make a boat sort of like that with quite a lot of work.

Sparrow Hawk. About 8 years ago when this one sold it was a bit of a mushroom farm, but could well be better by now. In any case it is a lot cheaper this time around.

Brand new Universal diesel with a boat for $11k is not so bad?
