Default Round Bowen Race - June 13, 2015

Coming to an idyllic island near you: the 2015 Martin Marine Round Bowen Race on June 13. The largest single start event in the PNW, with guaranteed sunshine and breeze.

NOR is up, Registration is open, Sponsors have been signed, and we are getting ready for the best event ever.

Free moorage both Friday and Saturday night.

Thanks to Steamwhistle brewery, we are offering free beverages all weekend to all registered skippers.

Live band is set to go on Saturday.

Thanks to Martin Marine, Evolution Sails, NorthSails, Yachtworks, ProTech, Navis, First Credit Union, Bowen Island Golf Course, SeaSnaps, Union Steamship Marina, Thunderbird Marine, and Pacific Yachting - we have AWESOME PRIZES.

Did you know: 100% of the proceeds from this events go towards the BIYC Learn2Sail program? This program teaches almost 100 local juniors every summer. This fall, the YC needs to build a new facility to support to Learn2Sail program. This year, we are asking everyone to dig deep and consider helping out our little club - by either taking a few junior sailors as crew, or adding a $25 kicker to your registration, or both.

Speaking of registration, Early bird registration is $50 before June 1. Register early, register often. Come play on the island.

Think your club is full of better sailors than mine?

As of right now, with the current boats registered, BIYC is guaranteed to win top prize in division as well as overall. that means I would win a free haulout at Thunderbird Marine, a bunch of VHF handhelds thanks to Pro-Tech, NorthSails gear, Evolution Sails gear, plus I would have a year supply of beer for my crew thanks to Steamwhistle.

Register now. let me know if you have any ideas to make this year's event better than last year (yes- we are changing the finish line).

Waiting on finalizing my Van-Isle commitments but I wouldn't worry too much boys - Round Bowen is an institution and we'll get tons of boats on the start line as usual ..... Would be nice if they'd rsvp so Geoff can plan the party but hey .... We're sailors .... Everything is last minute

The majority of the boats that show up to RBI don't frequent this forum and only a tiny fraction of them are reached through the VARC division lists.... The majority of boats seem to like signing up for a race 2-3 days before max.
