There is now an ad on Craigslist for the big blue fishing boat / pirate ship thing. Says they have been told it must be gone by Thursday night. I can't for the life of me think how they will get it off there - it must weigh at least 30k pounds, can't drive a crane onto soft sand, probably no anchor points strong enough to hitch it to a tug boat.

and probably no tide high enough to help float it off is even remotely coming.

maybe it's post tension cable. slice it with a chop saw and it will fall apart.

might happen anyways if it's old enough.

he claims he'll drive it off at a good high tide. i think he needs to dig a crater underneath it to get any water near the prop.

Default it is gone.

Finally Kits beach is clear of old boats. I noticed this morning that the old blue one is now gone.

Perhaps he did manage to drive it off

It was still there on Sunday. Did they crush them all or did someone remove them?

Default Sunday...

I saw it there Sunday too, about 3:30 pm the tide was actually almost up to it's transom and there were people there digging. It is possible they got it off. I did not see it at anchor off the beach today, but given that he spent the last 3 weeks on the beach, he can probably go back into False Creek for a spell now.
