True. At 102 maybe give UMii some company at the very front of div 3. Wrath is much quicker.

My understanding of the SR27 is that it's a bit sticky in the light stuff. So I wonder how you'd do against Melges 24s and O30s.

It appears to be set up with a symmetric kite, so might not really fit with the sport boats, but looks fun and good value.

I think the SR 27 would struggle to sail to 102. Surprisingly porky boat tipping the scales at nearly 3800 lb http://sailboatdata.com/viewrecord.asp?class_id=3069

So heavier design displacement than a HF 27 with a bit more SA and 2 ft longer WL. She should be faster than a HF 27 but a 102 PHRF puts her in Maxi-MORC range and I don't see how it would be as fast in PNW conditions. And that wide flat stern adds a lot of WS, so as Steve pointed out, may be sticky in the light stuff.

Now, the slightly newer SR 25 at less than 2000 lb disp sounds interesting

I think that's a typo. If I recall they're about 2800 lbs. They can be a little sticky in the light stuff so move crew weight forward but are killers in 15+.

The way to go is with a fat head main. See https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...3531408&type=3

Okay, that makes more sense and explains a 102 PHRF, I still think it would be hard to sail to that in PNW conditions against an O30 or a decent maxi-MORC

According to http://hendosr27.blogspot.ca/ the boat has a displacement of 2,750 lbs and a standard sail area of 371 sq ft, with a LWL of 24 ft.

This gives it an SA/D of 30.24. Seems pretty powered up, on paper at least.

Westerly is listed on SA as well. Is everyone trading in their big toys for smaller ones?
